Since 1987, the Buderim Rebels Hockey Club has been fuelled by a simple belief: sport should shape great players and great people.
From day one, our mission has been to create an environment where athletes of all ages can learn, grow, belong, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

We’re more than a club. We’re a community.
A place where friendships are made, confidence is built, and passion for hockey thrives—on and off the field.

Where It All Began

The Buderim Rebels story kicked off in 1986 when a spirited group of women—proudly calling themselves rebels—formed the Readymix Rebels and entered the Sunshine Coast Hockey Association competition the following year.

These trailblazers, fondly known as the Original Eleven, didn’t just start a team.
They ignited a movement.

Their determination, grit and sense of camaraderie laid the foundations for everything we are today. From those humble—and delightfully rebellious—beginnings, the club has grown into one of the Sunshine Coast’s most respected and successful sporting communities.

What We Stand For

Our guiding principles, shaped by our founders and honoured ever since, continue to steer our club today:
